All cuisine is prepared in-house so the culinary team has full control of every dish. Some fresh ingredients are even grown on site! Meet The Chef

Hollins House Chef John Paul Lechtenberg

Executive Chef John Paul Lechtenberg started cooking as a child but honed his technique after working in San Francisco while going to school at the California Culinary Academy. Chef JP trained under Master Chef Alain Traboul at former restaurant Archipelago in Burlingame, Former San Francisco Chronicle Food Critic Patricia Unterman, Chef Marc Sullivan of Spruce, Muriel Loubert of Au Midi and Thomas Vinolus of Bittersweet along the way developing his own style of California Cuisine.

Since taking over the Hollins House Restaurant, Chef JP and his staff have started hosting wine paired tasting menus with local vintners and his cuisine has been featured in Santa Cruz's GoodTimes newspaper. The addition of a south facing herb and vegetable garden adds a new layer of depth in flavor and complexity in the seasonal menu. Chef has participated in the Homeless Garden Project’s “Sustainable Supper” summer series and is scheduled to do so again this year in June. Chef JP paired with Seabright Brewery and won the best Food/Beer Pairing in the California Beer Festival.
